Ride for the Blind: Once again The Inland Lakes Snowmobile Club hosted a snowmobile ride for the Michigan Community Services for the Blind and Physically Disabled.

Hats off to this great group of members who helped out with hosting & driving our visitors today. What a day we had searching for snow.  Very rewarding for us and them!

Thank you to our volunteers from Inland Lakes Snowmobile Club!

Volunteers sold raffle tickets for our 50/50 fundraiser, hats, and memberships. The event was held at the Indian River Craft show at the Inland Lakes High School on Straits Hwy.

We will also have a table at the Northland Brewing Co. from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm this evening (following the Christmas Parade in downtown Indian River).

Snowmobile Club members volunteer for Trail Brushing.  Some good sized trees were removed that were laying across the trails to allow groomer access.  Lots of brush and trees were cut back also.  DNR wll grade the trails in November, which is seriously needed.  The washboard effect was terrible!  But overall it was a beautiful da to be in the woods, up north!!

The Indian River Snowmobile Grooming Club maintains 56 miles of trail running through the Northwest Lower Lake Effect Snow Belt and tends to have more average snowfall than most areas. From the old rail grade along side the Sturgeon River to the winding hardwood hills to the west, it is one of the most scenic trails in Northern Michigan. Trails are groomed 6 days a week (weather permitting) through the season with experienced volunteer operators.  Even between seasons the work continues with brushing, signing, clearing, and grading of the trails.  We thank all our volunteers and ask that everyone help support the trails we use with a membership to the Indian River Snowmobile Grooming Club or sponsor an ad in the Inland Lakes Snowmobile ClubTrail Map.

Enjoy the ride, groomers have the right of way, and ride safe!
